SpeakerFilters Can Measure Your Speakers for Linn "SPACE" Room Optimisation

Linn publish a list of speakers that are compatible with their SPACE Optimisation technology which helps to take the effect of the room from your listening experience.  To take advantage of this, you can select these speakers from a list with the Konfig software used to configure your Linn DS or DSM.

SpeakerFilters has worked with a number of clients to add their speakers to the list available from Linn.  If your speakers are not on the list from Linn, reach out to speaker filters and we can work to have them published for you.  Contact us via design@speakerfilters.com

Mission 782 Floorstanders (1999 to 2004) Exakt Filters

SpeakerFilters are pleased to announce a new addition to the range of available filters.

Coming from Cambridge company Mission, the 782 floorstander is a sophisticated 3-way design. Internally the walls of the cabinet feature complex machining to break up standing waves and a side firing bass driver (which rolls of at a low 190Hz) brings the benefit of a larger driver to a slim cabinet.

We're very pleased to add this speaker to the SpeakerFilters portfolio.  Bringing the opportunity to apply Linn Exakt advantages to those who want to get the best out of their Mission 782 speakers.  The filters are available to 782 users "off the shelf" right now.

For those of you without Exakt, but with a Linn DS or DSM streamer, the work completed by SpeakerFilters allows you to enjoy the benefits of SPACE Optimisation with the 782 in its passive form.

Please note that early versions of these speakers were fitted with Keraform mid-bass drivers which suffered from ferrofluid leakage and subsequent failure.  The SpeakerFilters Exakt filters are designed using the later Aerogel mid-bass driver which is reliable and is said to sonically outperform the original driver.  The Keraform driver is a pale dull grey, the Aerogel is glossy mid blue in appearance.  The Exakt design assumes that the speakers will be positioned with the bass drivers facing inwards.

Mission 790 Exakt Filters

The Mission 790 is a 2-way standmount design that's slim, elegant and features a complex curved cabinet.  Being a 79x product, its from the upper end of Mission's extremely comprehensive product range.

Now they perform even better with Linn's Exakt systems using filters from SpeakerFilters.

So we're very pleased to add this high performing speaker to the SpeakerFilters portfolio.

Mission 77c1 (Portrait) Exakt Filter

The Mission 77c1 is a 3-way centre speaker that's intended to be part of a home cinema system.  However, it also makes a good medium sized standmount speaker when used in portrait mode as a stereo pair.

Now it performs even better with Linn's Exakt systems using filters from SpeakerFilters.

So we're very pleased to add this interesting approach to the SpeakerFilters portfolio.

For those of you without Exakt, but with a Linn DS or DSM streamer, the work completed by SpeakerFilters allows you to enjoy the benefits of SPACE Optimisation with the Mission 77c1. 



We will add a landscape version of this filter to the catalogue in due course, to permit its use in a Linn Exakt surround sound system.



(Please note this is the 77c1 speaker which has 2x mid-bass drivers.  These filters are not compatible with the earlier 77c which has one mid-bass driver and one mid-bass passive radiator.  Please check your speaker carefull as they are not clearly labelled on the back panel.  To check, remove the front grille to check that the drivers look like the image below. Measurement of Your Speakers for SPACE Optimisation

NEW at SpeakerFilters.

Linn's SPACE Optimisation functionality optimises the sound of the system by compensating for bass mode boom in your room.  This allows the music to be easier to follow and frees up the vocals and treble information from being swamped by bass.

For a speaker to be used with Linn's SPACE Optimisation (SO) functionality, it needs to be measured.

Linn already produces a long list of speakers pre-measured for use with SO. Of course, Linn has not yet had an opportunity to measure every speaker made, and perhaps yours is one of those missing speakers. Now we are able to offer a service to measure your speakers to be added to the list of speakers to be used with SPACE Optimisation, giving you the benefits it brings to the music.  Send one of your speakers to us or we visit you - its a process that does not require any modifications or dismantling of the speakers.  We don't even need to connect them to a system.
